MSB opens new season with friends

We will open our winter season by participating in a recital with our friend and colleague, Shari Gleason-Mayrhofer.

Shari, professor of French horn at Kutztown University, will present a program of works by Brahms, Trygve Madsen, Anthony Plog, and a set of Shari’s own stylized arrangements for Mainstreet Brass.

The program, 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, is free and will be held in the stately Georgian Room in Old Main, Kutztown University’s oldest building.

On March 18, we will join another friend and colleague, organist Rebecca Lepore, for a concert of music for brass quintet, solo organ and works for large symphonic brass ensemble with organ and percussion. Works by Giovanni Gabrieli, Richard Strauss, J.S. Bach, Camille Saint-Saëns and others will be on the program.

The March 18 concert is at 4 p.m. in the historic Central Moravian Church, Main and Church streets in Bethlehem, Pa. Suggested donation is $10.
