MSB gears up for new season of concerts

Collaborations, anniversaries highlight MSB’s fall schedule

Mainstreet Brass will join the acclaimed Wheatland Choral for its 30th anniversary season and its guest artist Bob Chilcott for concerts on Nov. 12 and 13.

Chilcott, a celebrated British choral composer, conductor, and singer based in Oxfordshire, England, will conduct the Wheatland Chorale in two of his works and other selections by Brahms, Vaughan Williams and Reger.

Concerts will be 4 p.m. Nov. 12 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York, Pa., and 8 p.m. Nov. 13 at First Presbyterian Church, Lancaster, Pa. For more information, visit www.wheatlandchorale.org.

Mainstreet Brass will open its holiday season at 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 2 at Central Moravian Church in Bethlehem, Pa., with “A Musical Christmas Extravaganza,” a collaboration with the Moravian Church Choir and organist Rebecca Lepore. Click here for more information.

The group then heads to Dover, Ohio, on Dec. 3 for performances celebrating the community’s 175th anniversary.
